My niece Katie and her husband Luke continue to provide me shelter, loving company, and great food. Still not sure when I can get back into my apartment, nor the condition of my car. As in any household with a 2.5 year old, their son Cormac gets most of our attention. When he gets up in my lap for reading a book or watching a short video, he always says, “I’ll be careful of your knees.” Mindful of my operation this summer. As you can see from the picture at the top, you can barely see the scar from that operation on the right knee.
Here’s a picture of the first time I held Cormac. It was in the summer of 2019 when we’d first moved to Philadelphia.
Sarah said it so well. Congratulations on having such a wonderful niece and nephew-in-law – and on managing your 14 (!) flights of stairs not once, but twice. I hope your car somehow survives the adventure, and am very grateful that you have! Luckily, Cormac will happily keep you distracted.
This is lovely. I am so glad you are surrounded by such kindness after the experience of the past few days. And I must say, what elegant legs!
Take care,
Sarah
